Empowering Youth through Architecture

Robert L. Stevens School

With increased use of computers in schools, it is becoming a necessity to provide lighting system that is glare free. This may be achieved by shading at windows, placement of skylights where possible to maximize the use of natural light.

The clerestory windows bring glare free day light into the classrooms.

Recognizing that user's requirements change, it is important to develop a structural system that allows for easy modifications when changes occur. In Seward school DHA's structural solution allows for placement of four classrooms within the open space. Wall placement and their relocation can be achieved without any structural modifications.
